Hello Everyone.
It's been a few months since I posted something. I have had some health issues that I had to deal with, a mentally demanding job and travelling difficulties to and from work since my car broke in June. I travelled with my manager for a while but used to leave at 5:45am in the morning and be home around 7pm in the evening. It nearly broke me to have such little sleep and be at work for long hours. Thankfully God answered my prayers and I joined a lift club with my colleague. Now I leave at 6am but get home before 5pm, allowing me time to relax, bond with my partner and exercise when I feel up to it. My health is starting to stabilise which I'm grateful for. I am planning to fix my car in early January 2027.
Anyway, that was me since my last post in May. I haven't written a poem this year yet, due to time constraints and my health, but I have come across a powerful poem (dare I say so myself) that I wrote last year. By this time I feel so emotionally tired by the way the world has become lately, increasingly racist and gaslighting, increasingly unequal yet many people have become empowered. It is really a big battle for our minds and souls in the era of AI in social media, with advertisers doing everything in their power to attract our attention away from living our lives and just being on our phones to view content seemingly tailored for us to keep us addicted and mostly importantly, online to view their ads and buy their products. Our phones are keeping us away from living healthily and meaningfully to be online to see ads and buy things we don't need.
Anyway, that was quite a rant. Enjoy this poem, which I think reminds me to just be, to just be me in this fast and turbulent world. Let us stop following every Tom, Dick and Harry that is narcissistic seeking fast fame and fortune on the internet, only to sell their souls to products. Let us live slower, more meaningfully, closer to God, more in tune with ourselves and nature and just be HUMAN. Be human before your life is over and all you did was live for social media or on your phone. Remember, vanity is a sin. Anyway, here is a poem that might spark that interest in remembering who you really are. Enjoy!
