My Poetry - And a Poem Shared

Something that few people know about me is that I write poetry. I have been writing since I was 13 years old and was introduced to it by a classmate and friend called Yolyn as she was a poet herself. The two of us were branded as class nerds and we proudly wrote our poems. I had a blue booklet in which I wrote a few poems, but unfortunately the booklet went missing after lending it to an aunt. However, the very first poem I wrote that was in the booklet, called Abused, I knew from memory and recorded it again later. 

Abused is about how love is abused, how the word love is abused but seldom sincerely practiced. I have a poetry book manuscript and hope to get it published some time in future, but self-publishing would be the way I would go about it. The poem Abused is in the first section of the book and is as follows:

Take care of your hearts guys and girls, choose a partner who builds you up and shares your dreams, instead of tearing it down or not caring. 💓
